When recovering from an injury it is common to experience pain or discomfort after exercise. Infact it is somewhat expected and in the majority of cases it is no cause for alarm.
We can think of this aggravation to the existing injury as a hangover. While the discomfort might be unpleasant, it is typically temporary and can be managed.
Just like a hangover, it is a sign that we have over indulged (in movement) and will feel a little delicate afterwards. We know it is a transient feeling and will resolve itself within a day or so. There is no need for a alarm, in the vast majority of cases this is a positive response of adaptation and similarly to a hangover, the more we ‘overindulge’ the more our tolerance can build over time.
So think of taking steady sips of movement and if you fall off the wagon and suffer a hangover remember it will pass.
